How We Keep Dogs Safe at VIP Dogs Marbella

Leaving your dog in someone else’s care is never a small decision. We know that, because we’re dog owners too. Trust is everything, and it’s only natural to want to understand how and why things are done a certain way. This is exactly why we believe it’s important to explain how we keep dogs safe at VIP Dogs Marbella.
From time to time, we speak to potential clients who are surprised by some of our policies, especially when it comes to visits or sharing our location. Rather than those conversations feeling confusing or frustrating, we thought it would be helpful to explain how safety shapes everything we do at VIP Dogs.
Our daycare and boarding run from our home, and the dogs spend their days in a familiar, calm environment. One thing we’ve learned is that constant comings and goings - new people, new dogs, new energy - can quickly change the atmosphere. Even friendly visits can cause excitement, anxiety, or tension between dogs, and stress is often where small issues turn into bigger ones.
For that reason, we don’t allow visits. It’s not about secrecy, it’s about protecting the dogs’ emotional wellbeing and keeping the space peaceful, predictable, and focused on them.
For similar reasons, we don’t publicly share our address. Our home is not a drop-in facility, and keeping our location private helps us maintain a secure, controlled environment for both the dogs and ourselves. Instead, we offer pick-up and drop-off within the Marbella area. This isn’t just about convenience, it’s part of our safety system. By handling transport ourselves, we avoid chaotic handovers, reduce stress for the dogs, and can make sure each arrival and departure is calm and managed.
Safety also shows up in the small choices. One thing that can surprise people is that we don’t use toys. While toys can be great one-on-one, they can easily become a source of guarding or tension in group settings, even between dogs who are usually very social. Removing toys removes that risk, allowing dogs to play, interact, and relax without competition. And trust us, play still happens, just in a more balanced way.
Every dog that joins VIP Dogs starts with a trial day, and this step is incredibly important to us. It allows us to see how a dog copes in a group, how they communicate, what their energy level is like, and how they respond to structure and rest. Not every dog enjoys group daycare, and that doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with them. Our responsibility is to be honest and make sure this environment is the right fit, for that dog and for the group as a whole.
Behind all of this is something very simple: we are a small, hands-on team, and we are present. We watch body language, step in early when needed, and adjust things as we go. There are no moments where dogs are left to “sort it out themselves.”
Safety isn’t a checklist for us. It’s a mindset that runs through every part of VIP Dogs Marbella, and it’s the reason so many dogs feel at home with us.
